The September 17, 2005 meeting was held at the Old Food Court at the Newton Factory Outlet Mall. The meeting was called to order at 9:18am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, David Godshall, Kent Harder, Roger Jost, Sean Kelly, and Bob Ogden.
Minutes: August Minutes were accepted with a couple corrections: the two new towers will be 300 feet in height, not 300M, and our repeater is currently around the 250 foot level, not 250M.
Treasurer's Report: Added $15 in club dues and moved $200 from petty cash to checking for a total of $853.35 in club funds in checking and $20 in petty cash. On the Marion Ford side we added $125.88 from the silent auction and $55.00 from the items sold after the last meeting for a total of $642.88 in the Marion Ford fund. Treasurer will send a check to Marion Ford's son Bob Ford to split among Marion's children.
Sean Kelly: His father is moving to a retirement home and is donating all his Amateur Radio equipment to Sean. Would appreciate some help moving equipment and some heavy furniture into his house.
MCC Bike Ride: Going on right now. Roger Wilson, Mike Harvey, and Dan Inskeep are among those club members missing in order to help with communications at that event.
Repeater: A new repeater has been ordered for about $400 plus shipping. There was some more discussion about the new towers.
Katrina Disaster: At least a thousand amateurs have participated in communications following the disaster and their involvement has been seen by the Red Cross and other agencies as very beneficial.
Disaster Practice: Roger Jost wondered what the procedure would be for activation if Emergency Coordinator Lon Buller were not available to activate RACES. There was some discussion about that and disaster practice in general.
Meeting adjourned at 10:16am.
