The September 20, 2003 meeting was held at Red Coach Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:20am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, Jeff Bitikofer, Lon Buller, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent Harder, Michael Harvey, Bob Ogden, and Roger Wilson.

August Minutes and Treasurer's Report were not available.

MS Bike Ride: Starts in Valley Center around 8am Saturday morning, September 27-28.

Jeff Bitikofer: Hays Amateur Radio Club helped with a disaster simulation of a train hitting a stolen ammonia truck; 5 hams participated.

Bob Harder: Talked about his Worked All States with Nelson Kilmer, down to the last few states. Bob is planning a trip to the NorthEast US in a few weeks to get all the remaining states except Hawaii, which he also plans to get in the near future. Also talked about planning to get the Hesston College ARC running again and plans to resume the HAM Radio class at Hesston College next year.

Field Day: Discussion about whether Military Park is the best place for Field Day or if we should think about going back to Stutzman Retreat Center or some other location. If we choose to continue using Military Park, we should reserve it within the next month or two.

Festival of Lights: Roger asked whether the club was interested in helping with the Newton Festival of Lights parade again, would need 4-5 hams. There was general agreement that the club would be interested in helping.

Valley Center HAMfest: Next Saturday.
