The September 16, 2000 meeting was held at Spear's Restaraunt in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:20am by ViceªPresident Randy Balzer. Present were ~~~.
August minutes were read without correction.
Treasurer's: No change to the current checking account balance: $775.09.
Repeater Trustee's Report: Nothing to report.
Antenna Removal: Robin reported that he and Randy were able to get access to the roof and found the antenna had snapped and there were some loose bolts on the box it ws mounted on. Attempted to take the antenna down the elevator, but the 10' sections were too long and had to cut them in half to finish removing the antenna. Also looked in the repeater box and it appears normal.
Backup Repeater: Chance used part of the old repeater to get the current repeater working. Currently sitting in Robin's basement. Not certain if it is worth repairing, probably better to get another Master II repeater. Biggest problem about getting a backup repeater ready is finding time to work on it. Robin didn't think he'd have the time, and had some concerns about asking Chance to put a lot of time into a new backup repeater. Listed other alternate repeaters in the event of repeater failure: Hesston ARC repeater 145.21, WARC 146.82, possible future SKYWARN repeater. Will keep thinking about this and keep our eyes open for a repeater.
Valley Center Hamfest: Dave Deurksen looked up the in dates in his Grounded Grid. October 7th, 8am©3pm at the Valley Center Middle School.
Former Members: Bob forwarded his greetings from Charlie, W0AQ. Bob and Lorna visited him this summer in Maine during their vacation travels.
Meeting adjourned 9:46am.
