Newton, KS

The October 16, 2012 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in Library Board Room. Those in attendance were Greg Brazell, Joe Brazell, John Goerzen, Jeanne Groves, Russell Groves, Dave Hughes, Charles Meisinger, Joe Palmer, Stan Stephenson, Kent Stutzman, and Jerry Williams.

The meeting was called to order by president Russsell Groves at 7:05PM. Jeanne motioned, Dave 2nd minutes for approval as sent online to the membership.

Stan gave a an overview of how the Falun Classic went. They provided the organizer with a scanner and could address her where she was needed on the course. A reporter from the Lindsborg News-Record interviewed Stan about the communications.

Kansas Ultrarunners - The organizers were exstatic how the communications were handled. The race officials relied heavily on the hams this year and the hams rose to the challenge. Matfield repeater was primary, with a 440 repeater at 30ft set up at Teetervile as secondary. One improvement in preparation with the organizers next year will be to track the runners and have all numbers. This is for health and safety purposes.

JOTA was October 20 0600Z October 22 at 0000Z. Joe sent an e-mail which Kent forwarded to the member list for the JOTA frequencies. Scout Encampment is next April. Greg and Joe Brazell will keep the Club advised of any radio activity during that event.

Kent re-imbursed for the domains to himself in the amount of $20.94.
