The October 16, 2004 meeting was held at Red Coach Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:22am by Vice-President Kent Harder. Present were Dave Duerksen, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent Harder, Ken Lundgren, Bob Ogden, and Roger Wilson.
Minutes: Minutes were accepted with one correction: It was Mike Harvey and Dan Inskeep that went up Roger Wilson's not Kent Harder.
Treasurer's Report: No change to the Treasurer's report of $538.37 in the checking account and $120 in petty cash.
Harvey County EOC: David Godshall read an E-Mail from Don Gruver about Harvey County upgrading their EOC next Saturday, October 23, 9am-12pm or until done, and they would appreciate help from RACES members. David will forward the E-Mail to the Newton Club membership.
Contesting: Bob Harder gave a rundown of the upcoming contests: Sideband CQ World contest is the 29-30, CW Sweepstakes is the first weekend of November, and Phone Sweepstakes is the third weekend of November.
Tower Climbing: Bob Harder reported on the Hesston College Club's tower climbing by David Godshall and himsel to replace an antenna that got fried by lightning.
HAM Radio class: Bob Harder also reported that he has submitted an official request to reinstate the HAM Radio Class next year.
440 Repeater: Roger wondered about the status of the 444.675 repeater, Kent Harder thought Mike Harvey had it partially working but the project was currently on hold.
MS Bike Ride: Roger Wilson reported no major problems. One girl fell off her bike, twice.
