The November 20, 2012 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in the Board Room of the Newton Public Library. In attendance were Joe Brazell, Greg Brazell, Jeanne Groves, Russell Groves, John Goerzen, David Hughes, Dan Inskeep, Charles Meisinger, Joe Palmer, Fletch Rickman, Stan Stephenson, Kent Stutzman, Jerry Williams.

Meeting convened at 7:03PM

No minutes were read and business began.

Justin will bring the 61 down when he gets the crystals. This should help repeater sensitivity. He will also bring a S-Com 7330 controller.

Dec 1 is the Christmas Breakfast at Water's Edge in Hesston. Skywarn Recognition Day was scheduled from 8AM-4PM at the Wichita NWS office.

Ham CRAM in February, Various members were assigned items to look for prior to the December meeting. These items include test sources on-line, getting the latest ARRL test question pools for Extra, etc. Focus groups should be EmComm, scouting, and working with James Whitfield, N5GUI, with the Exploration Place Science Centers STEM Program. STEM is Science, Technology, Electronics and Math.

It was announced that the 146.82- is on the air with an PL of 103.5.

Nominations were held for 2013 officers.

ARES is going to begin changing with updates over the coming months. Kent talked to Ron Cowan and has secured an agreement to get updates on ARES position changes throughout the state.

ARES, RACES, and SATERN, bike rides are all good practice nets to participate in in case we need to activate for weather or a disaster.

Club financial status: $1,359.08 in checking and $25.68 in petty cash.
