The November 20, 2004 meeting was held at Red Coach Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:19am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, Fred Becker, Lon Buller, David Duerksen, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent Harder, Mike Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Ken Lundgren, Robin McDaniel, Kent Stutzman, and Roger Wilson.

Minutes: Minutes were accepted with one correction: The October meeting was called to order by President Kent Harder, not Vice-President.

Treasurer's Report: No change to the Treasurer's report of $538.37 in the checking account and $120 in petty cash.

Harvey County EOC: There was a report on the work that was done at the EOC last month. Several club members helped run wires and set up radios and antennas.

Contesting: Bob Harder showed some section maps of his CW Sweepstakes contesting two weekends ago. This weekend, starting at 3pm and running until 9pm Sunday, is the Phone Sweepstakes.

440 Repeater: Mike Harvey reported the repeater works, still needs a little tuning and a controller. Currently trying to find information on optimal coaxial lengths to use.

Storm Spotting: Lon Buller reported that March 8, 2005 is the annual Storm Spotter's meeting at Chisolm Middle School in Newton. Tuesday, December 4th, is Skywarn Appreciation Day.

Festival of Light: Thursday, December 2nd, downtown Newton. Assemble at 7th & Main (parking lot behind the old post office) around 6pm to line up the parade. The parade starts at 7pm.

Meeting Location: Rita called Kent Stutzman and said Rita's Restaurant couldn't reserve us a room if our attendance was low and few attendees were ordering food. There was discussion about whether we wanted to consider changing meeting locations and/or meeting days or times. Saturday meetings are difficult for Mike Harvey to attend, and a lot of activities like Hamfests occur on weekends. Members should think about locations and times and there will be discussion at future meetings.

Repeater Skipping: There was some kerchunking on the repeater recently caused by some operators using the simplex frequency 146.00, which is too close to to our repeater's input frequency. Something to be aware of if there is future kerchunking.

Nomination for Officers: Kent Stutzman declined re-election to Vice-President but will continue his role as webmaster and public information officer. Robin nominated Kent Harder for President, Ko nominated David Godshall for Secretary/Treasurer. Robin nominated Roger Wilson for Vice-President (but Roger declined), and Roger nominated Dan Inskeep for Vice-President. Roger motioned that nominations be closed and Ko seconded.

Funds: Kent Stutzman asked about methods of increasing our funds during the year since we normally only gets incoming money at the end of the year. There was a question whether the club is a 501c3 non-profit club, David Godshall said he'd find out.

Meeting adjourned at 10:01am
