The May 15, 2012 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met at the Nwton Public Library in the Board Room. Those in attendance were Greg Brazell, Joe Brazell, John Goerzen, Jeanne Groves, Russell Groves, Marion Harper, David Hughes, Dan Inskeep, Joe Palmer, Charles Meisinger, Jeremy Stiggins, Kent Stutzman and Jerry Williams.

The meeting was called to order by president Russsell Groves at 7:05PM

Discussion was about field day and what stations were going to be set up. It was decided that the Newton/McPherson Clubs would be running 3A with total solar power for the duration of event. The Field Day call will be N0NK and the GOTA station will be W0WTU.

Dan, Charles and Joe Palmer would provide a laptops for logging. The logging software will again be N1MM and the discussion then turned to who would bring radios. Dan offered to bring one of his radios, and it will be set up for digital modes. John and Jeremy also said that they would bring radios and that would round out the stations. Dan wanted to add to the reality of the event, so there was not any set plan of any one person providing coax, extension cords, or barrel connectors to connect what may be various lengths of coax. The computers can run off of commercial power. There will be a 6M/VHF station which does not count as one of the operating stations. There will also be a GOTA (Get on the Air) station as well.

Kent was asked to provide promotional articles to the local newspapers. Local officials will be invited to attend the event in person by Kent as well. It was not stated at the meeting, but it would have been a good idea to provide invitation cards to each served agency.

Kent gave the club financial report of $820.42 in checking and $27 in petty cash.

The meeting adjourned at 8:15PM
