Storm spotters meeting in Harvey County was last week.  Lon Buller announced his retirement.  Publicity was not as good as last year.  Television stations were particularly not good at informing.

Jerry attended meeting on Chisholm Trail Bike Event May 2, in Newton.  He shared several suggestions including rider numbers and have one of us riding with Dr. Bike-the rover. The website is  It is an 80 mile race which will start about 8 AM and end about noon.  There will be 3 SAGs.  Will have several routes for different race lengths.  They have already informed law enforcement.  Will have one more meeting.  Will have maps for route and will finalize details for next meeting.
Russell reported on Flatlanders and let the members know that we will be doing communications only, not canopies or signs.  They don’t know which route they will run as there is road construction on both routes.  They are still talking with Harvey County.

Russell will have Marion County Lake on Field Day without the other emergency planned activities but we will be sharing with catfish tournament.

Russell is contacting the Newton Elevator for space to put up a repeater.  Still working on it.  Hillsboro site took 6 months to a year.  Yaesu is having an offer for system fusion repeater for $500.  Delivery is supposed to be in 2 months.

Round table

Stan:  Radio wise, been working on McPherson ARC constitution. Then once that is done, MARC can apply for ARRL club membership.  10 meters is still staying open.  Monitors WeatherTap for his weather information.
Joe:  Got some things from Radio Shack that is closing in Newton.
John:  Got mobile rig running, using boxes to prop up the solar panels in his car.  Been a fun experiment. K-link has been quiet.  94 repeater was not linked today, is in process being adjusted.  Should be available for storm season as net control.  Recommends APRS but is an investment.
Charles:  Still working on contests.
Jerry:  Been working on 10m.  Working on outdoor projects and going to basketball games.
Greg:  Been boring..working on taxes.
Jeb:  Gearing up for storm season, figuring out courses of action.
Jeanne:  Working on MARC constitution.
Russell:  Major geomagnetic storm happened last night which has been affecting radio traffic.  As for storm season, keep a back channel open to keep clear of K-link.  Is working on backup EOC for Marion County.  Making arrangements for a few rooms in downtown Hillsboro.
Dave:  Wichita State finally purchased a RGIS program and Dave is to set up and install.  In addition to regular teaching load.

Motion to adjourn - motion to adjoin by Joe seconded by John.
