The June 9, 2007 meeting was held in the Newton Public Library.  The meeting was called to order at 9:20am by Secretary David Godshall.  Present were Lee Buller, Lon Buller, David Duerksen, Ray Franz, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Marion Harper, Dan Inskeep, and guest Mike Smith.

Minutes: The May Minutes were glanced at and approved.

Meeting location: Due to the active renovations and other considerations, we can't meet at the Chisholm Trail Mall any more.  Dan arranged for us to meet in the Newton Public Library this time, and will check with the library board to see if we can get permission to meet here on an ongoing basis.

Field Day: There was discussion about Field Day equipment.  It's assumed that most people will bring the same equipment as last year.  Ray Franz will set up the 6m station again.  Bob Harder will bring a radio, and Bob said that Bob Ogden was planning on bringing his radio again.  Lee is in charge of the remote CW station.  Last year the third station wasn't used very much, so we're probably going to switch from 3A to 2A classification.  Lorna Harder will purchase food for the Saturday supper cookout -- burgers, chips, drink, salad or something, etc., and people can bring whatever other food they might like.  Friday setup will start around Noon.

Guest: Mike Smith, KC0YOV, came up from Maize to visit.  He's able to hit our repeater from some places in Maize.

Repeater: The repeater at the new Camp Hawk location is working great, Lee said it's the best repeater the Newton club has ever had.  There's still some talk of adding remote input sites.

New Radio: Lee talked about a new K3 radio kit that just came out that's got a list of new features a mile long.  They sold out the first 200 in the first two days.  Lee was in Dayton this year and gave a mini-report on the HAMvention.  Lee saw a great new 40/80/160 antenna by K9AY, attended some seminars including discussions about Amateur Radio in Homeland Security, digital modes, etc., and the flea market was really good this year.

Derby Sidewalk Sale: Normally the Derby sale is the same morning as the club meeting, but we moved the meeting a week early this year to make it easier for people to go to the Derby sale next week.

Sweepstakes: Lee pointed out the Bob Harder won the national Phone and CW Sweepstakes this year.

Meeting adjourned at 10:00am.
