The July 18th  2017  meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in the Board Room of the Newton Public Library.  Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Jerry Williams.

Present were Charles K0HNC,  Jeanne  KS0JG,  Jerry KD0LWX,  Dan K0FNI,   Dave WX0DH,  Kent Price KE0NJP,  Terrance Laurendine  K5TBO,  Steve Copeland  WE0E  and  Kent KB0RWI.

Minutes were read by Secretary/Treasurer Charles Meisinger.  Dave moved and Jeanne seconded to approve the minutes as read.

Guest Terrance Laurendine   K5TBO  from Wichita Amateur Radio Club was here to exchange information between clubs.  The WARC meeting in Aug 2nd at 6:30 PM will have a Yaesu rep demonstrating the Fusion system.  Location is the Red Cross building at 1900 E Douglas.

Kent reported on the Harvey House On the Air  Special Event Sep 9th.  It is being sponsored by the Valencia County New Mexico Amateur Radio Association.  The original Newton Harvey House was adjacent to the current law offices of Sizemore, Burns and Gilmore at Newton Station.  Kent has contacted Mr. Sizemore about operating there.  It was agreed to discuss it further at next meeting.  More information may be found at http://www.qsl.net/vcara/

Dan moved and Dave seconded to pay McPherson club for our half of the rental fee for field day use of Volunteer Hall.

Jerry reported on the Mobray Metric bike ride.  The high humidity in addition to the heat took a toll on some riders.  Several had to be picked up and given rides back to McPherson.

    Camp Hawk UHF antenna is now available.  Need new frequency pair for proposed stand alone 440 repeater.

    The December club breakfast will be the 2nd or 9th at Waters Edge restaurant in Hesston.

    Kent has updated the header for club web page.

    John Goerzen and wife have new baby girl.

    Visitor Steve Copeland WE0E joined the club.  He has been a ham since 1989,  likes phone and CW and would like to help with CW at Field Day next year.  His kids are testing July 29th for their licenses. 

    Arron Diller N0QD will coordinate assignments for the Heartland 100.
