The July 15, 2006 meeting was held at the Food Court at the Newton Factory Outlet Mall.  The meeting was called to order at 9:22am by Vice-President Mike Harvey.  Present were Lee Buller, Lon Buller, Aaron Diller, David Godshall, Kent Harder, Mike Harvey, Sean and Conor Kelly, Bob Ogden, and Roger Wilson.

Minutes: The June Minutes were accepted without corrections.

Treasurer's Report: Starting with $947.87 in the checking account, there were payments of $26 for the PO Box, $42 for the Annual State Report, $90.53 to David for Field Day food, $14.04 for Lorna for some additional Field Day food, for a total left in checking of $775.30 and $105 in petty cash, for a total of $880.30 club funds.

Camp Hawk Tower and New EOC station: Mike has acquired the hard to find connectors for the 5/8" coax and gave the treasurer the invoice for $106.61.  Mike now has the new 5/8" coax and connectors.  Lon said the coax will probably go up in two weeks and was wondering if we could bring the spool of cable to the new site, with one coax connector already installed, as well as the antenna, where they could lock it up and have it available for when they start the tower work.  We will need to remove the antenna from where it is currently installed on the grain mill on our current repeater.  Lon reported that the installation cost for running the coax up the tower and installing   $1500 and unfortunately Homeland Security is unable to pay for any of it, so the cost will need to be split between the Newton Radio Club and Harvey County.  There was discussion about the improvements of the new location over the old location and the club's ability to pay given the relatively low membership level and various other expenses.  Roger moved we offer the county to pay $250 of the cost, and Lee seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  Lon said the county will be able to make up the difference.

Lon asked who will be the contact person from our club for the installation, and Roger pointed out that there are actually two projects in process -- the tower and the new EOC station -- and there should be a contact point for each project.  Mike volunteered to be the contact person for the new tower project and will work with Courtney Becker to get the coax and antenna to Camp Hawk, and Roger will be the contact person for the EOC project, with Lee the backup contact person in case Roger leaves before the project is done.  Lon also wants us to pick a Saturday in August to install the new EOC equipment and run coax through the building.  Roger suggested August 5th, 8:30am.  The HF antenna will need a flat roof mount, maybe a 4'x4' board with a tripod.  Lon also said he would like a small committee to meet with the county to review a written agreement on our joint use of Camp Hawk.  Mike and Lee and Roger will compose the committee and will try to meet Thursday afternoon, July 20, around 4:30pm at the 911 basement.  Lon handed the committee members an initial draft of an agreement to review.

Bike Ride: Tomorrow, July 16, is the 20/40/60 mile rides in McPherson.  Currently only Roger and David will be 443.850 with a tone 110.9 (encode).  David will go to Buhler, meet with the McPherson club around 8-8:30am at the city park.  Roger will go to Burton.

Field Day: Lon said he talked with Carolyn McGinn and she said she was very impressed with our Field Day setup and learned a lot about Ham Radio's involvement in emergencies.

Meeting adjourned at 10:45am.
