The January 16th 2018 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in the Board Room of the Newton Public Library. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Jerry Williams.

Present were Charles K0HNC, Jeanne KS0JG, Jerry KD0LWX, Dave WX0DH, Kent KE0NJP and Joe KD0QNG

Minutes were read by Secretary/Treasurer Charles Meisinger. Dave moved and Jeanne seconded to approve the minutes as read.

Treasurer’s report was read by Secretary/Treasurer Charles Meisinger.

Jeanne moved and Dave seconded to approve. Volunteer Hall at East Lake needs to be reserved for Field Day. There is a form to fill out and a reservation fee and security deposit to pay.

McPherson club will have a representative from the Mobray Metric bike ride at their meeting on Jan 20th.

Jerry will attend the Feb 5th meeting of the Chisholm Trail bike ride committee.

Jerry passed around his Kansas QSO party certificate and rare radio related postage stamps to attach to it.

Jeanne said that the Heartland 50 mile run and the Chisholm Trail bike ride are both on May 5th.

Kent passed around to new publication from ARRL called On the Air with articles aimed at new hams.

Storm spotter meetings will be at Hillsboro on Feb 21st and Newton on Feb 22nd.

APRS at the Newton site is down. Jerry will contact Don Gruver about access to the equipment.

Dave moved and Kent seconded to adjourn at 7:42.
