The December 18, 2004 meeting was held at Red Coach Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:15am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, Lee Buller, Lon Buller, David Duerksen, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent Harder, Mike Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Sean Kelly, Ken and Renae Lundgren, Bob Ogden, and Roger Wilson.

Minutes: Minutes were accepted with no corrections.

Treasurer's Report: No change to the Treasurer's report of $538.37 in the checking account and $120 in petty cash.

Newton Fesitval of Lights: Roger reported it went well. Dan Inskeep, Mike Harvey, Kent Stutzman, and Roger Wilson helped.

Meeting Location: Need to decide first if we want to eat at the meeting or not, then decide on a meeting date and time, then find a location. The VFW wants to charge $15 for meetings there, the fire department has a meeting room but unknown if it would be available; Roger will check on that option. Lon said the EOC has a training room that would likely be available. Other possibilities include the Museum, Hutch JuCo, and Hesston College. David will send out a survey to all club members to find best meeting times.

Repeater: Not working recently. Mike Harvey not sure what the problem is; might be water in the feed line, he found the connectors had some corrosion. Could be a Cable TV leak in the area that might get worse during cold weather. Roger thinking he detected some interference from Public Service equipment and is wondering if maybe their equipment might need tuning. Lee mentioned we can get a filter if the problem is interference, but we should rule out coax, connectors, can tuning, etc. first. Another possibility is hanging a 100 watt light bulb (or smaller) or a space heater in the cabinet to keep it warm would be worth a try.

Election: Roger moved that those nominated last meeting be elected. Lon seconded. Passed unanimously. Kent Harder is President, Dan Inskeep is Vice-President, David Godshall is Secretary/Treasurer.

Membership: David pointed out the membership renewals are due, and also reminded everyone that if they join the ARRL through the club, the club gets $2 for each renewal and $15 for each new ARRL member (up from $5 previously).

Meeting adjourned at 9:55am
