The December 20, 2003 meeting was held at Red Coach Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:19am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, Lee Buller, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent and Dana Harder, Michael Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Kent Stutzman, and Roger Wilson.

Minutes: The November minutes were read with no corrections.

Treasurer's Report: No change to last meeting's report.

Guest Speakers: Kent Harder thinks Rodney Price, N0SET, Weatherman, might be able to be a guest speaker around March.

NWS/Skywarn Recognition Day: Michael Harvey and various other amateurs worked the Wichita NWS station a few weeks ago.

Festival of Lights: Roger Wilson reported that Kent Stutzman, Michael Harvey, Dan Inskeep, and Roger Wilson showed up to help, the parade started on time with a couple more floats than last year and no major incidents. Next major event requiring Amateur communication assistance will be the Kansas Sampler Festival in early May.

Elections: Roger moved, Dan seconded, that election nominations be closed and the current officers be reinstated. Motion passed unanimously with all officers are retaining their present positions: Kent Harder, President; Kent Stutzman, Vice©President; David Godshall, Secretary/Treasurer.

Antenna: Michael showed a 2m copper pipe square loop antenna he built from plans at http://www.hamuniverse.com/loop.html

Repeater: Michael and Robin McDaniel are working on setting up a new 440 repeater. Have the radio and cans and antenna, need a controller and power supply. The old 443 frequency is still coordinated but there may be interference with an ATV group so Michael is looking at getting a higher frequency. Roger was wondering if a new repeater would be used and worth the work and expense. Since it looks like it could be put up with little expense and be useful as a backup repeater, it appears to be worth pursuing.

KMUW, WSU's radio station, which provides the Wichita Radio Reading Service (WRRS),a news service for the blind, is looking for volunteers to help fix a bunch of broadcast FM radio receivers for distribution to their new listeners.

Marion Ford, K0YWT: His wife died a couple weeks ago and Marion's health is declining rapidy. He's at Showalter Villa and mail can be sent to him at 200 W. Cedar in Hesston.
