The December 15, 2001 meeting was held at Spear's Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:24am by President Kent Harder. Present were Ko Bartel, Fred Becker, Dave Duerksen, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Kent Harder, Dan Inskeep, Robin McDaniel, and Roger & Dr. J.J. Wilson.

The October minutes were read with a date correction: The October meeting was the 20th, not the 15th.

Treasurer's Report: No change to balance of $893.80.

Repeater Problem: Repeater is currently not working very well and is currently turned off. Robin cleaned out the repeater a couple months ago but didn't see anything wrong. Discussion about methods of testing whether the problem is interference from the Newton Police mobile data system and/or other systems such as Cable TV, etc. Roger pointed out a tower at the courthouse that might be as an alternate temporary repeater location for testing purposes. Decided moving the repeater would be difficult and would be better to start by testing at the current location, i.e. testing with a different antenna to the repeater, and a different radio to the antenna. Robin will try to do some testing along those lines.

National Weather Service/ARRL Skywarn Recognition Day: Went well, a lot of fun. Made about 29 NWS station contacts, and about a hundred other contacts.

Product Reports: Dan Inskeep has been playing with HAMalyzer, a download with 10-day free trial period, said it is a pretty neat audio analyzer.

Contests: Bob Harder reported the ARRL 10m contest is going on this weekend, 48 hours, ending 6pm Sunday.

Meeting adjourned 10:02am.
