The Aug 19, 2014 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in the Board Room of the Newton Public Library. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Dave Hughes.

In attendance: Dave WX0DH, Russell WX0RG, Jerry KD0LWX, Dan K0FNI, Marion K0GZX, Kent N0XOS, Priscilla KD0PLJ, Joe KD0QNG, Greg KD0QNF, Charles K0HNC, Kent KB0RWI, Jed KD0JCG. Bob Becker and Ken Janzen were present to represent MCC.

MCC Flatlanders Ken Janzen Bob Becker presented details on the Sept 20 event. Offered their thanks to NARC. Est 150 riders. Next ride meeting Sept 8 breadbasket Map shows SAG details. Halstead route will go north on second street. Last year riders got lost in Sedgwick. So this year MCC would like extra signs and have radio people put up signs and help w canopies. Then pick up signs afterward. Police escort thru newton. Another event in Sedgwick that day, so the ride route will avoid parade at same time.

Keep track of bib numbers, then notify Net Control when SAG closes.

Short briefing on Heartland 100. Butler Co CERT will provide their communications trailer and three people to the event. Five to six people from the Kansas City area have expressed interest in coming back down for the event.
