The August 21, 2012 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in Library at a table at the back of the upstairs as their was a misunderstanding in room reservations. Those in attendance were Aaron Diller, Greg Brazell, Joe Brazell, John Goerzen, Jeanne Groves, Russell Groves, Marion Harper, Jordan Henion, Dan Inskeep, Charles Meisinger, Joe Palmer, Stan Stephenson, Kent Stutzman, Gilman Vaine, and Jerry Williams.

The meeting was called to order by president Russsell Groves at 7:03PM.

Kent read the minutes. Jeanne made a motion, Dan 2nd, and they were accepted as read.

Kent reminded everyone that the Kansas QSO Party was coming up the following week-end.

Justin is rebuilding the 61 machine and wants us to get the UHF equipment for the Newton site.

MCC Flatlanders ride is September 15. Will try to use APRS. Will also see if we can get APRS in the van with Dr. Bike. People for early SAGS should show up betwenn 7:00 and 7:30. Use 146.61 and 146.52 Simplex if needed. September 10 is last MCC organizational meeting.
  • October 13 - Kansas Ultraunners Heartland Cassoday - Oct 13 6:00AM to October 14 12:00PM
  • October 14 - Falun Classic - Contact Stan, WDØEUF. Starts at 1:30 at the Park on the N end of Lindsborg. Need at least 3 people to operate the ride.
Jerry brought an 11m dipole he made with a balun which can be extended to become a 10m dipole.

Kent noted there were 14 in attendance.

Financial report of $880.02 in checking and $25.68 in petty cash.
