Old Business

MCC Flatlanders ride: Russell attended meeting, passed out route maps.

Same route as 2 years ago, changed because of closure of Ridge Rd at KWY 50.

Sept 17, 6 SAGS, ideally 8 operators but possible with fewer.

Commitments from Russell, Jeanne, Jerry, Charles, Bob, possibly Aaron.

Will contact McPherson Club for addt’l volunteers. Contact Kent to see about serving as Net Control. Flatladers will attempt to provide list of participants with their numbers for SAG checklist. Club will use 146.610 repeater, delinked from K-Link.

Kansas Ultrarunners: Charles visited the route again, also looked at maps of the route and rest stops relative to the Matfield Green repeater. Believes all the sites will have line of sight coverage with exception of Battle Creek. Aaron will contact event organizers about a Club representative attending planning meetings TBD. We will decide which of the 6 aid stations need to be staffed and when. Those stations will be at Battle Creek, Lapland, Teterville Rd, texeco, RidgeLine, Matfield Green. Most important times of coverage will be overnight, as the 50 mile runners start in the evening and will be running through the night as will the 100 milers. Staffing will include local ham Roger at Teterville, Aaron at Cassoday for base station and net control. Justin assures the Mat Green repeater will be available. Discussion of planned repeater trailer, which will have lower priority since that repeater covers the route. Discussion of another visit to the site to determine coverage.

Repeater Trailer:

Russel bought a repeater and duplexer with broken crystal, which might or not be ready for ultrarunners run. Brian Short could be contacted for dedicated frequency – Justin will do that. Russell has trailer, Bob has push up pole and Justin can lend a repeater antenna. Some discussion of possible locations on ultrarunners route for setting up a repeater.

New Business

Kansas QSO party last weekend of August 9 am to 9 pm. Bob had a few 1x1 call signs not given out, from a total of 33 dedicated. 12 mobile stations will operate, CW, SSB, digital modes will be represented. New sponsored placques for QSO achievement, including 2 bonus for the event. Bob explained some of the points for logging specific to this 150th anniversaty of Kansas Statehood. He was hoping for as many operators as possile from NARC.
