The August 19, 2000 meeting was held at Spear's Restaraunt in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:20am by President Ron Farthing. Present were .

July minutes were read without correction.

Treasurer's: No change to the current checking account balance: $775.09.

Repeater Trustee's Report: Not present to give report.

Antenna Removal: Robin reported that the bent antenna slated for removal has bent completely over and is laying on the roof. Robin will continue to attempt to get access to the roof to at least inspect the antenna if not remove it.

Repeater: The repeater seems to be working great. Ron noticed some kerchunking last week.

Emergency Preparedness: Lon Buller looking at a tower south of Halstead, going to check into possibility of use. Need to find out who owns it, etc.

Weather Bureau: Had a setback, was not allowed to install the new Yagi antennas on existing tower, so will need to install a new tower first, and continue using verticals for the time being.

Backup Repeater: When our regular repeater died, the backup repeater was installed and some parts from the main repeater were used, therefore we do not currently have a backup repeater. Some discussion about the pros and cons of relocating the 146.61 repeater to a new taller tower; would it be worth the hassle and expense?

Meeting adjourned 9:52am.
