The April 21, 2001 meeting was held at Spear's Restaraunt in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:11am by Secretary/Treasurer David Godshall. Present were Lee Buller, Lon Buller, Xon Fesler, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Roger Jost, Robin McDaniel, Kent Stutzman, Roger and Dr. J. J. Wilson.

The March minutes were read with four corrections: Kent Stutzman, ViceİPresident, ran the meeting, not Ron Farthing, and Xon Fesler was attributed with three different statements that were actually made by Dan Inskeep.

Treasurer's Report: Starting balance of $940.09, plus receipts of $60.00 (memberships), minus dispersments of $40.00 ($20 for PO Box, $20 for State Annual Report), leaving a current balance of $960.09.

Repeater: Trustee Bob Harder had nothing to report. Technician Robin McDaniel reported that he and Chance Cooper looked at the repeater for several hours one evening, tuned some items, adjusted the bandpass because the transmitter was desensing the receiver. An individual from Cheny who couldn't hold the repeater is now able to communicate, so the repeater appears to be working better. Chance thought we should be running a commercal antenna rather than our current antenna. Lee Buller recommended we consider doing a little fundraising and purchasing a new commercial repeater. Lon will look into the possibility of the county covering some of the cost of a new repeater since the repeater is used by Harvey County RACES during severe weather. Roger moved that the club ask Lon to approach the county to financially assist with the purchase of a new repeater and antenna. Xon seconded. Unanimous. Robin will look into some antenna and repeater options and pricing and will give the information to Lon before or at the next meeting.

MCC Relief Sale: Bob thanked everyone who helped. Had just enough people to help, but those that worked worked close to full time. A lot of medical emergencies, fainting and heart attacks. Did not have the Hillsboro bus this year, but Allen Heck, KC0CFL, ARES coordinator for Sedgwick and Harvey counties brought a bus he recently bought and is converting for HAM emergency use.

RACES: Kent sent Lon an EİMail about Platt County, MO, deciding to discontinue Amateur emergency communications in favor of using cell phones. Lon wanted to assure us he sees no way that would happen in Harvey County, and suspects they will come to regret their decision.

Field Day: June 23-24, Stutzman Retreat Center reserved from 5pm Friday through 4pm Sunday. Will discuss next two meetings.

Meeting adjourned 10:00am.
