The April 15, 2000 meeting was held at Spear's Restaraunt in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:12am by President Ron Farthing. Present were Lon Buller, Gary Dix, David Duerksen, Ron Farthing, Xon Fesler, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Roger Jost, Robin McDaniel, Roger Wilson, and Dr. J.J. Wilson.
Minutes approved as read, with a correction: The list of attendees was from the previous month. The correct list of March attendees is: Ko Bartel, Fred Becker, Jeff Bitikofer, Larry Boettcher, Gary Dix, David Duerksen, David Godshall, Roger Wilson, Dr. J.J. Wilson. Also, ARRL is the one proposing additional certifications at this point, not the FCC.
Treasurer's: No report.
Repeater: Cleaned the emergency power relay contacts. Otherwise, the repeater seems to be working great.
Repeater Trustee's Report: Bob Harder had no report.
MCC Sale Report: Aside from a half hour power outage, there were very few emergency©type situations.
Testing Session: April 17, Valley Center, will have a "Paper Testing Session" ©© there will be no actual tests given, but license upgrades based on CSCEs and the new rules will be given.
ARES: Bob Harder is no longer coordinating ARES, Greg is the current Wichita coordinate.
61 Meetings: Net Controls: Roger Wilson, Tomorrow. Ron Farthing 4th weekend. Roger Jost will do 1st weekend of May. David 2nd weekend of May.
October 7: Ron reported that Valley Center will have their first HAMfest this October and invites the Newton club to help.
Skywarn Repeater: Ron reported that the KOEZ tower will be available for the new Skywarn Repeater. The frequency will be 145.11 and it will hopefully be up later this summer.
